Safe Search AI provides kid-safe AI buddies on our website and through an optional Chrome extension. We built it to collect as little as possible.
What we store
When you create an account we store your email and your subscription status. Family mode, parent PIN, and per-site notes live in your browser's local storage — they never leave your device unless you choose to back them up.
How AI requests work
Your messages and any optional page context are sent to our servers, which forward them to our AI provider on your behalf using our own credentials. You never need an API key. We don't keep AI requests longer than needed to deliver your reply and enforce your Family mode safety settings.
Analytics & ads
None. We don't run ads, we don't build behavioral profiles, and we don't sell data.
Browser extension permissions
- storage — to keep your sign-in session locally so you don't have to re-auth every page.
- activeTab — to read the page when you ask your buddy about it.
- Host access to our domain — so the extension can reach our subscription-backed AI endpoints.
Removing your data
Sign out from any device to clear that device's session. Delete your account from Settings to remove your profile and subscription record. Uninstalling the extension wipes its local session.
