Terms of Use — Safe Search AI

1. The service

Safe Search AI ("we", "us") provides Foxie and related kid-safe AI experiences for parents and schools. By creating an account or using the service you agree to these Terms.

2. Accounts & eligibility

Parent accounts are for adults (18+) supervising children aged 5–10. School accounts are managed by authorized educators. You're responsible for activity under your account.

3. Subscriptions, credits & billing

Paid plans grant a monthly credit allowance that resets at each billing period. Credits are consumed when AI features are used. One-time top-up packs add bonus credits that don't expire at the period rollover. Recurring add-ons are stackable and add their credit grant on top of your base allowance for as long as the add-on is active. All purchases are processed through Stripe.

4. Allowance recalculation

The number of credits included in each monthly allowance is calibrated against the underlying cost of running the AI models we depend on. Because those costs fluctuate (model providers raise or lower their prices, new model versions ship, usage patterns shift), we periodically recalculate the credit allowance for each plan so the service remains sustainable.

We measure the trailing 30-day average AI cost per credit and compare it to a target user-cost budget.
When the recommended allowance for a plan changes by more than the configured notification threshold (default: 5%), we update that plan's monthly allowance.
You will be notified by email at least 14 days before any reduction takes effect. The effective date and new allowance are stated in the notice.
Allowance increases can take effect immediately. Your billing price doesn't change as part of a recalculation — only the credit count adjusts.
Unused base-plan credits do not roll over between billing periods. Top-up bonus credits and add-on credits follow the rules in §3.
If you don't agree with a recalculation, you may cancel before its effective date and any unused portion of the current period remains usable through the period end.

We keep a public-facing log of past allowance adjustments inside the admin dashboard for accountability.

5. Acceptable use

Don't use the service to harass, deceive, attempt to extract harmful content, bypass our safety controls, or violate the rights of others. We may suspend accounts that put children at risk or abuse the platform.

6. Privacy

We collect only what's needed to operate the service. Children's interactions are logged for safety review and to improve guardrails. See our Privacy Policy for details.

7. Cancellation & refunds

You can cancel any time from your billing settings. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period. We don't issue prorated refunds for partial months unless required by law.

8. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the product evolves. Material changes — including changes to §4 — will be announced by email at the address on file with at least 14 days' notice.
