Trust & data
We do store data — here's exactly what, why, and how to control it.
Your AI companion is only useful if it remembers your projects, goals, and how you talk. We're transparent about every byte we keep, and you can read, edit, pause, or delete any of it at any time.
What we store, by category
Account basics
- What
- Email, display name, account type (parent / teen / kid / org).
- Why
- So you can sign back in and we know which experience to show you.
- Who can read
- Only you and the platform admins for support.
- How long
- Until you delete your account.
Profile facts you tell us
- What
- Pronouns, age range, interests, and goals you fill in during onboarding.
- Why
- So the AI doesn't ask the same getting-to-know-you questions every session.
- Who can read
- Only you and your AI companion.
- How long
- Until you edit or wipe them in /account/data.
Auto-learned memories
- What
- Durable facts the companion notices over time — projects you're working on, your usual schedule, kids' names, communication style.
- Why
- A real companion remembers. Without this, every chat feels like a stranger.
- Who can read
- Only you. Group owners can switch this off entirely but never read contents.
- How long
- You can pin, edit, or delete each one. Capped at 200; oldest low-confidence ones evict automatically.
Chat threads & messages
- What
- Your conversations with the companion, organized by workspace.
- Why
- So you can re-open yesterday's plan, find that recipe, or continue a homework thread.
- Who can read
- Only you.
- How long
- Forever, until you delete the thread or wipe history.
On-device preferences
- What
- Theme, last-used character, dismissed tooltips.
- Why
- Smoother UI without re-asking.
- Who can read
- Stays in your browser's localStorage.
- How long
- Until you clear your browser data.
